My friends Segi (volleyball teammate) and his wife Soyla ( both Mongolian) work at the best Chinese and Thai places in town - Szechuan Restaurant and Tong's Thai. Everytime I visit Tong's, Soyla brings me some strange Thai creation which I would never have ordered on my own, but turns out to be delicious. She recently introduced me to this tasty beverage.


1-2 tbsp Black, Red or Thai-mix Tea (found in your local specialty store)
1 cup Hot Water
1 tbsp Sugar (to taste)
1-2 tbsp Condensed Milk (to taste)
1 pinch Star Anise (optional)
1 pinch Tamarind (optional)

Make tea with tea leaves, seasonings,(if you have thai tea mix, disregard seasonings) and water.
Careful with seasonings.
Put sugar in glass and fill with Ice.
Pour tea into glass, carefully, and add condensed milk.
season, and sugar to taste
